REVIEW >> MSI officially unveiled WindPad 110W: the world's first tablet based AMD Z-01 APU


Two weeks after the premiere, held at Computex 2011, MSI has officially unveiled its tablet PC: WindPad 110W. The gadget is remarkable in that it is the world's first device in its class, because it is based on APU AMD Z-01.

AMD Z-2001 is specifically designed for tablets. At relatively low thermal package, 5.9 W it is endowed with two processing x86 cores running at 1 GHz, and a quite productive (for tablet PCs market segment) GPU Radeon HD 6250. Reduced heat package has a positive effect on battery life: WindPad 110W will run for more than six hours in offline mode with its 2-cell battery.,


New gadget also features 2 GB of DDR3-1066 MHz with declared maximum of 4 GB. The built-in SSD system can have 16 or 32 GB of memory. A further increase in memory is possible with help of SDHC slot.

In addition to the above MSI WindPad 110W features: Ethernet 10/100 Mbps adaptor, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n and Bluetooth 3.0, two cameras (front and rear), 1.3 Mp each, Mini HDMI and USB 2.0, 2 watts stereo speakers.
