This is hardly a surprise to us. After we saw it in leaked pictures barely a week ago, the U.S. version of the HTC ChaCha got officially announced on Facebook under the name HTC Status - quite a fitting moniker for the phone which is designed to rule the social network. There are practically no differences between the HTC Status and its European sibling, the Chacha - their appearance and specs are identical, save for the AT&T logo of the Status.
The U.S. version of the ChaCha will also get the upgraded processor which we previously told you about - it is clocked at 800 MHz unlike the originally claimed 600 MHz.
