Indian ultrabudgetary tablet hit the market

We already reported about the ambitious project of the Indian government to produce a tablet that would be available for students this is not a rich country. Initially it was assumed that its value be able to keep within the amount equivalent to $ 35, but the developers have to cope with the task failed, and in reality the device from the first batch cost about $ 49. Nevertheless, the government compensates the costs of students and Android-tablet cost them the equivalent of 25 U.S. dollars. The first 10 000 7-inch plate be made available to the institute IIT-Rajasthan in late June. It is followed by the second batch of 90,000 ekzemlyarov whose value can be reduced by half by the Government.

What is most remarkable in this tablet promoted by the Government of India, is the fact that the cost though is achieved by an extremely simple design makes the tablet malofunktsionalnym. The model has all the basic features inherent and much more expensive devices, the cost of parts only, which greatly exceeds $ 49. The device has a 7-inch resistive screen, 2 GB of RAM, a front camera and 32 GB hard drive (it is the HDD, not SSD). Task, which was put before designers - to create a tablet, which would allow to introduce e-learning methods. In this case, the device should be very affordable, and its functionality should be more like a traditional PC, rather than e-book.
