EBS HD350 and new Classic Line 'Mini' Cabs reviewed in Bass Guitar

"What a great combination!...the slightly warm, vintage character of the CL112 cabinets is a great match for the clearer and accurate nature of the HD350, and what we have here is the closest we've seen for a long time to the 'best of both worlds'".

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the EBS HD350 head, Bass Guitar Magazine take another look at this hugely popular model combined with the all new for 2011 Classic Line 'Mini' Cabinets.

"One of our favourite features is the drive control. Though at first glance it's just another gain stage, in use it defines the whole character of the amp, and with careful adjustment you can transform your bass sound into something really special. Leaving the lower frequencies untouched and without adding much in the way of output volume, the soft distortion it adds to your bass tone creates a wonderfully plummy sound that's perfect for blues or soul".

"The first impression you get of these mini cabinets is that they look fantastic. EBS have obviously done a great job ensuring that the quality of the CL range, although made in China, is well up to their own 'made in Sweden' standards...they're a real credit to the company".

"Stacking the cabs vertically with the amp on top, you have a smart-looking mini rig. Almost immediately, and even with all the amp controls set flat, you have a great bass tone. This is such an easy amp to get accustomed to, and as long as you have set the gain correctly for your bass, it's nigh-on impossible to get a duff sound".

"The amount of bottom end produced by these cabinets belies their nifty size...we were pleasantly surprised at the volume these speakers can handle".
