Z series chips, which is based on the architecture of the merger, will provide a complete customer experience PC tablets, said Chris Cloran, vice president and general manager of solutions group, division of AMD customer, at a press conference at the Computex Taipei show.

AMD has been criticized for not moving not quite quickly deliver bullets for the booming market of the tablet at a given time, fueling speculation that he could under licence from arm to market chip technology. With the Z series chips, is in competition with arms, which processors come in most of the tablets, AMD and Intel, including processor Atom called Oak Trail is projected tablets, many of the Computex.

The first chip in the family of series Z, dual-core Z-01, works at a 1 GHz clock speed. It draws less than 6 watts of power and will send a tablet, cloran said an long battery life. The chip is manufactured using 40 nanometer process and has already started shipping.

The chip includes a graphics core that supports Microsoft DirectX 11 technology, which will help to provide an experience of more realistic game on the shelves, said cloran an. The tablets will be also able to connect television sets high definition.

At the Computex MSI is demonstrating a new tablet based on most recent Tablet chip from AMD. 110W WindPad runs Windows 7 and packs 2 GB RAM and hard drive SSD (solid-state drive) up to 64 GB. It weighs 850 grams and offers six hours of battery life.

The z series chips are designed specifically for the Microsoft Windows 7 operating system. Google's Android will be able to run at the top of the stack of Windows 7 software, said cloran an.
