If you are looking for high quality products at a reasonable price, you really should look at Vector Research & Development.  The company has many outstanding products that can fit the needs of most offices.

As I was speeding through the exhibit hall on my way to a meeting in Chicago on Friday, I happened to see the booth for Vector Research & Development.  I stopped for a brief moment to say hello and to tell them how impressed I've been with their products.  I told them that I thought they had some of the "best kept secrets in dentistry" and because of that fact, I've decided to try and let you readers know more about the company.  When a manufacturer makes products that are this good, they really should not be secret for very long.
I came across Vector last summer while I was attending the Florida National Dental Convention in Orlando.  I was impressed with the quality of the devices they were displaying and decided to test some of them out.  I've been using them since July 2010 and have had nothing but good experiences.  In fact, I've been so impressed with Vector, I've decided to feature the company & their products in one of my columns in Dental Products Report sometime in 2011.
The device in the photo above is the Lil' Beaver 2.0 Ultrasonic Scaling Unit.  In June of 2010 we added "Super Hygienist Sarah" to the staff and decided to turn her loose with the Lil' Beaver to get her clinical impressions.  Being straight out of hygiene school, Sarah had worked with a variety of powered scaling instrumentation and I wanted to get her impression of the device since she hadn't been using the same device for months or years in private practice.  From day one, Sarah has been impressed with the effectiveness & the reliability of the device.  She finds it easy to use, it does an outstanding job, and accepts both 25K and 30K ultrasonic inserts with no adapter.  The unit adjusts automatically to accommodate any style, brand, or frequency.
Add to that the fact that this unit is very affordable in the arena or ultrasonic scalers, retailing at $500, and the Lil' Beaver is a home run product.  If you are looking for a new ultrasonic unit for your hygiene department, you definitely need to check this one out.  It is highly recommended.

The device pictured above is the LED Turbo Curing Light.  While I'm not as big of fan of gun style lights as I once was, the LED Turbo could easily change my mind.  The device has an output of 2100mw/cm2 which is 1300mw/cm2 above my personal "absolute minimum" of 800.  This means the LED Turbo does an outstanding job of curing composites that are using CPQ as their photo-initiator.  The device has vents and a fan to prevent the circuitry from becoming overheated and features raised buttons that allow the user to "feel" without having to spend time looking at the light to adjust the settings.
The battery is capable of providing up to a full hour of 5 second cures and the footprint, including the charger is extremely small.  That is especially nice in an office where counter space is at a premium.  The price tag is also palatable at only $700 and the black plastic casing helps hide any discoloration from disinfectants.
