SAN FRANCISCO, CA — PapayaMobile announced today the re-launch of Papaya Farm, the company's most popular mobile social game, for the iPhone and iPad. The newly released version of the game, which follows Papaya Farm's successful launch on Android devices, creates a cross-platform smart phone experience. Existing players can manage their farms on iPhone, iPad and Android devices while, new players can start their own farms.
Papaya Farm is a social game that allows players to manage a virtual farm by plowing land and planting and harvesting virtual crops, trees and bushes. A player begins with an empty farm and a fixed starting amount of "Papayas," the virtual currency used in the game. Papayas can also be used in PapayaMobile's other social games.
The game was developed using PapayaMobile's Game Engine software development kit, the leading game engine for making mobile social games. The kit was recently made available to select developers.
"We decided to re-launch Papaya Farm in the AppStore because of the success we had on the iPhone when we launched there last year. Papaya Farm now has more than 2.5M monthly average users, around 20 percent of which are on iOS devices," said Si Shen, CEO of PapayaMobile. "The iPhone -- and now the iPad -- are great ways to get into the latest version of Papaya Farm. The iPad's large touch screen and enhanced graphics make for an excellent gaming experience."
Papaya Farm launched in September 2009 and has spent more than five months in the Top 100 free casual games on Google Market. Currently, people in over 180 countries play Papaya Farm. The Papaya community recently spent more than $5,000 on virtual goods in just 12 hours for a donation campaign for the Red Cross to help victims of the recent Japanese Earthquake.
Papaya Farm can be downloaded now from the iTunes App Store at www.itunes.com/appstore.
