Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro delayed until Q3 2011

Sony Ericsson has confirmed that the Xperia Pro has been delayed, with its release date pushed-back until “Q3 2011″.

Earlier this month, Sony Ericsson kicked off its pre-orders for the business-focussed smartphone, and promised it’d be landing in just a few weeks time. However, the firm has now revealed that the handset’s been delayed, and is updated its website with a late-July release date.

Speaking to SoMobile, a Sony Ericsson representative said: “The Xperia Mini Pro will be available in Q3 and the Sony Ericsson txt pro (which we announced this morning) will be available in Q3 as well. We haven’t got an exact date as of yet I’m afraid.”

The reasons for the delays is still TBC, although we’ve been back in touch for further information.

Set to rid off the success of last year’s Xperia X10 Mini Pro, the Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro arrives touting a 3.7-inch touchscreen with a set of slide-out QWERTY keys. It also arrives running Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) OS, coupled with Sony Ericsson’s TimeScape UI and Facebook Inside Xperia application. Other specifications include an 8 megapixel rear-facing camera, a front-facing videocall cam, HSDPA and WiFi and up to 32GB of expandable memory.

If you don’t mind waiting to get your mitts on the smartphone, you can pre-order it now for £349.99.
