Sony Blu - ray disc has technology breakthrough in HD recording

Rapid dissemination of broadcast HD with burgeoning volume of digital data today has increased demand for optical disc media high capacity offering recording speeds faster and the greater capacity. Blu - ray is the next generation of video format high definition that meets all of the new requirements of broadcasting in HD. Blu - ray disc format was ready to replace the support of DVD disc.

Sony is no doubt business leader of the world in the registration of media, consumer electronics and storage backup technologies. Philips and Sony are the primary disk Blu technology developers, while the list of supporters is also very long. Blu - ray technology takes its name from the blue-violet laser is used to read/write operations.  Disk CD and DVD technologies use the red laser beam. Sony offers single and double layer Blu discs that are available in the BD - RE (rewritable) and BD - R (recordable or write - once) formats. The wavelength of the red laser used with CD and DVD technology is 65 nanometers. The blue-violet laser 45 nanometer to accommodate more volume of data in the same physical disk on the Blu - ray disc box.  Media Bluray disk uses optical storage space more efficiently, while maintaining the same physical size of the CD and DVD disk.  Other brands of disc Blu market leaders are Imation, Maxell, TDK and Verbatim. Video resolution delivered by Blu - ray disc technology is 1920 × 1080, while video DVD can only manage a 720 x 480 video resolution. The video quality of Bluray media offers more depth, color and is much more marked than the recording of DVD.  Blu - ray surpasses DVD recording in sound quality.
