Review Windows Live Mesh 2011

Windows Live Mesh is a central role in the online operation of Windows 8. But what does this mysterious member of the Windows Live Essentials family anyway?

Microsoft is known for its product name to be changed often. Windows Live Mesh 2011 is no exception. Initially, the platform called Windows Live FolderShare, then Windows Live Sync, then and now Windows Live Mesh Live Mesh 2011. The name change, many users make you loose. That is unfortunate, because this is possibly one of Microsoft's powerful Live products.

Sync Files
In a nutshell sync with Windows Live Mesh 2011 up to 200 different file folders on Windows or Mac machines. You can sync files online simultaneously parking at Microsoft's Live Skydrive hard drive and you can share it with other Windows Live Mesh users.

Finally, it is possible to settings of Internet Explorer and Microsoft Office to synchronize. That sounds great in theory but in practice it takes a little less good.

Live Mesh 2011 is somewhat similar to Dropbox and LiveKive. But with these services it is necessary files to a specific folder or move them first online backup possible for synchronization.

Not for XP
In the Microsoft cloud service you must install the Live Mesh client, which is part of the Windows Live Essentials installation. Then log in with a Windows Live ID and allows you to work. Too bad that Windows XP users can not use Live Mesh.

Live Mesh, which from then the system is running, has a somewhat cluttered interface with two main sections. At the top you will find your synchronized folders back, while bottom-program equalization settings.

The procedure is simple: you choose a folder on your hard drive and can then sync with another computer that Live Mesh is installed on. It is possible to simultaneously in the same menu to sync to your Skydrive.
