REVIEW >> Toshiba Thrive: Another Tablet With Android Honeycomb

As you know all tablets on the Android 3.0 Honeycomb are just as similar white and black iPads. Toshiba have desided to jump in at the last moment, which presented a tablet called Thrive. This tablet has a 10.1-inch display with canonical for Honeycomb resolution 1280x800 pixels (by the way, Thrive has to go on sale with preinstalled Android 3.1). It has Nvidia Tegra 2 built-in, there are 2 USB-ports, full HDMI-out and slot for SD. Which did affect the thickness of the tablet - its dimensions are 272 x 175 x 15 mm. It also features two cameras of 5 and 2 megapixels.

Official sales in the U.S. should start June 13. There will be three versions available (all without a 3G modem) with the memory capacity of 8, 16 and 32 gigabytes. And with prices respectively: $ 430, $ 480 and $ 580.

The new gadget features:
  • Two cameras (2 megapixel front camera and 5 megapixels rear cam for recording HD video with 720p resolution);
  • Internal flash memory of 8, 16 or 32 GB;
  • Built-in GPS-receiver;
  • Wi-Fi and Bluetooth module;
  • Integrated accelerometer;
  • SD card slot;
  • Mini USB port and full size USB 2.0 port;
  • HDMI Output

Summarizing all the above things this tablet is really great, it has USB 2.0 ports which most of them lack. It should be pretty useful to use mouse, keyboard, flash drives; it is almost a computer. Another advantage is a 2 MP front camera to make video calls.
