REVIEW: New Kindle Tablet in the Works?

 

A China-based hardware manufacturer (Quanta) claims that Amazon ordered them to develop new color Kindle tablets that may feature “fringe field switching display” touchscreens.

In layman’s terms, these Kindle tablets will feature color LCD screens that can be viewed even at 180 degrees. The fringe field switching screens would also provide improved visibility, more realistic image and color representation, and reduced power consumption.

Amazon has yet to confirm this report, but we doubt they will announce it before the unveiling. That is, if such a tablet is in the works.
