REVIEW: Microsoft About to Acquire RIM?

Everyone who attended the BlackBerry World trade show were surprised to see the presence of its special guest: Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer. That bit of news has pushed aside the introduction of the PlayBook tablet and BlackBerry’s latest software because people are now wondering whether Microsoft’s presence in the event could be more than just about BlackBerry’s partnership to Bing search engine.

One speculation suggests that Microsoft could be planning on buying Research In Motion, the BlackBerry manufacturer, if the company’s strategy and platforms do not succeed over the next couple of years.

Microsoft has been planning on making it big in the mobile hardware realm as it looks for potential devices that would run on its Windows Phone 7 OS. It has already forged a partnership with Nokia and RIM could be next in line.
