MTS builds infrastructure backhaul in partnership with Alcatel-Lucent

Operator MTS and company Alcatel-Lucent announced the modernization of transport infrastructure of the MTS to deploy IP-radio access networks. MTS selected the Alcatel-Lucent to upgrade network infrastructure, technology-based IP / MPLS, which will increase flexibility and network efficiency in the implementation of mobile broadband 3G services and in the future LTE. Alcatel-Lucent will deploy the MTS network transport solution «AnyG to LTE», which is capable of transmitting voice and data networks, GSM, UMTS and HSPA / HSPA +, as well as creates a foundation for subsequent introduction of technology LTE.

It is assumed that the introduction of the new solution will provide MTS scalable, dynamic, efficient and fully managed IP-transport, capable of not only meet the current needs of the operator, but also for many years to adapt to the ever increasing volume of traffic. Using equipment supplied MTS upgrading the transport network in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Central and North-West Federal District.

The project on upgrading the transport network will be installed MTS Service Router and 7750 SR service router aggregation 7705 SAR, as well as the management system Alcatel-Lucent 5620 SAM (Service Aware Manager). In addition, Alcatel-Lucent offers the operator related services design, installation and commissioning of network equipment.
