How to share a file with another computer at home

Sharing between Windows 7 computers

Windows 7 HomeGroups feature gives you the easiest and faster way to computers to network together.

First of all, on the computer that you want to share the file, open the HomeGroup.Si control panel a homegroup doesn't already exist (Windows can have created an automatically when you first set Wi - Fi), click on create a HomeGroup. Choose the types of files you want to share ("Documents" are not enabled by default), and then click Next. You will receive a password to the homegroup. Click Register now and follow the rest of the steps in the wizard. Computers will be now share files with one another.To find shared files, the Windows Explorer to your homegroup in the left pane. The other computers that you added to the network will be listed y, and the shared files will appear in the right pane.If you still want to change your homegroup password, open the control panel of HomeGroup on a machine that is already in the group, and then click on change password.

Access to files on a Mac from a Windows 7 PC

On Mac, visit the system preferences and open the network application.Click the WINS tab.Change the "working group ' affecting the same working group to your use of PCs. (if you are not sure of the name, you can find this setting in the control panel for your PC system)." Click on OK.Still in the system preferences, open Mac sharing application. Place a check mark next to the Sharing.Over file in the shared folders pane select the folders that you want to share.In the users pane, rights to each folder according to the case, assigning either read only or read write & the "Everyone" group.Then, click Options, and then put a check in the area of sharing of files and folders using SMB. Click done. Finally, open the application accounts, unlock your system and click on the account in the left pane. Check the box allow guests to connect to shared folders.
