Ever Wonder What *Really* Is Happening Inside a Standard Spinning Hard Drive?

A hard drive is a little bit like a vinyl album and the needle arm.  I mean, it's a whole lot more complicated than that, but some of those same principles apply.  That's why 'normal' hard drives don't survive drops, heat, moisture, and a whole lot of other things.

In fact, I'm really amazed that, given all the moving parts and potential for things to go wrong, that they work at all.

So if you really don't have an appreciation for the amazing amount of engineering that goes into storing your data, take a look at this video and prepare to be amazed at what Bill Hammack will teach you!
