HTC has just dropped a BOMBSHELL on all owners of its original HTC Desire Android phone. The phone will not be getting an update to Android 2.3, despite numerous promises that it was on the way and that the “Gingerbread” update was on schedule to launch later this month. Blaming the Desire's “lack of memory” that means HTC's engineers can't fit Android 2.3 and its Sense user interface onto the handset, the hardware maker issued the below statement:.
