Mac to Launch App Store for Apple Computers - Launch Date January 6th

Here's a new twist in the software side of technology.  It seems that Apple is getting ready to launch an App Store that will feature programs that are built to run not on iPhones or iPads, but on Apple computers.  The idea is a fairly simple one.  There is an entire generation of folks that are growing up with an App Store mentality.  What I mean by that is that they don't think of going to a store or even a website to get software, they go to the App Store.
Since the concept has worked so well for Apple with its mobile devices, it just makes sense for them to do it with their computers as well.  Heck, I've been wanting to upgrade to the latest version of iLife, but I just haven't had time to go to the Apple store to make the purchase.  This new store will work the same way the others do.  You'll need your Apple ID and a credit card and then you just click the programs you want to own & install.
Interestingly, the company plans to go online with this new store on the opening day of the Consumer Electronics Show.  They couldn't being trying to upstage anyone... could they?
