For $2,096.95 the 17.3in ASUS G74SX-FHD-TZ130V is a superbly well-rounded gaming notebook. It's got a powerful strong graphics card and processor, and you can rip plenty of Blu-ray movies to the gigantic 1,500GB of hard disk drive storage. We’d hesitate to call it cheap, but it’s still really good value for money nevertheless.

An NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560M dedicated graphics card is enough for newer games like Call of Duty: Black Ops to run at the highest settings on the 17.3in full HD screen. The Intel Core i7-2630QM (2GHz) processor’s no slouch either, particularly given it’s got Turbo Boost 2.0 Technology that lets it speed up to 2.9GHz if a particularly intensive game (or program) is running. There’s also a generous 8GB of RAM, so for gaming this notebook’s going to last for some time.

A Blu-ray burner ties in well with the 17.3in full HD screen, because it becomes easy to just pop in a Blu-ray disc and watch the movie at its native resolution. If you want to rip them then the 1,500GB of hard disk drive storage is generous even compared to dedicated entertainment notebooks. At 4.28kg it’s about typical for a gaming notebook in terms of weight.
