JoeCo announce digital I/O versions of the BLACKBOX RECORDER

BLACKBOX RECORDER manufacturer JoeCo unveils the new digital i/o versions of its award-winning 24-channel live recorder at NAMM (Hall E, booth 1663). The revolutionary 19-inch, 1U rack-mounted BLACKBOX RECORDER captures multi-track, live audio without the need to have a laptop or Digital Audio Workstation at the performance.

The new AES/EBU version provides 24 (12 stereo) channels of AES/EBU input and output at sample rates of up to 96kHz, with no reduction in track count at 96kHz. The unit is fully AES3 compliant. Connection to the mixing console is via three 25-way D-type connectors, selectable between Yamaha and Tascam pin outs. The new ADAT version can provide up to 24 channels of ADAT lightpipe input and output. Both variants can also offer Wordclock input. These units supplement the unbalanced and balanced analog units already available. The BLACKBOX RECORDER records industry-standard broadcast WAV files directly onto a regular USB2, FAT32 formatted, removable hard drive. A number of “fail safe” features are built in to ensure secure audio capture and uninterrupted signal flow at all times. After recording, the hard drive can be plugged directly into any Mac- or PC-based DAW for editing and mixing, without the need for any file conversion or copying.
