EBS Classic Session 60 review in Guitar & Bass

“The Classic Session 60 is basically a drastically down-scaled version of the EBS Classic 450 amp in combo form with a factory pre-shaped EQ for instant plug-and-play, and it chucks out a surprising amount of bottom, given its size”.

This month’s Guitar & Bass magazine includes a stellar review of the EBS Classic Session 60 Combo. The new EBS Classic Session 60 is a 60W tiltback style bass combo packed full of features. This sturdy little vinyl covered cabinet is built to provide extra bass reflex to a level not heard in such a small combo before.

“Before you go global with the Session 60’s sound you need to set the gain control, paying careful attention to its red ‘clip’ LED. Once this is done you’re into a sound with warmth, growl and decent booty at the bass end. The midrange is clear if slightly dark, while the highs have just the right amount of snappy attack thanks to the well-attenuated tweeter”.

“Dialling in extra bass produces fine width and a rounder sound that still hints at modern clarity courtesy of the tweeter. It’s a testament to the build quality that, even with a low B, full boost doesn’t induce distortion; knocking the bass back a little and cutting treble by half gives a silky-smooth rumble for rock and soul”

To read the full review, pick up the March 2011 Issue (Vol 22 No 6) of Guitar and Bass Magazine on sale now. The EBS Classic Session 60 combo is available now at £240 RRP.
