New ranges include optoelectronic and further electromechanical components, while the tool now enables users to easily filter and find products with 3D CAD models available for free download. These and other enhancements to its online component selection and design tools will be demonstrated on its stand at Electronica (A4.117).
RS has added optoelectronics devices to the 260,000 semiconductor, passive and electromechanical components covered by Component Chooser, the world’s most extensive parametric search engine for electronic components. It has also increased coverage of the electromechanical component range and cleansed and normalised over 7.5 million attributes.
Component Chooser provides an instantly accessible and consistent search and compare tool for the world’s leading suppliers, enabling faster, more effective search and selection of electronic components. Customers can go to rswww.com/cc, search on all attributes, compare products side by side, and are offered links to support documents such as datasheets, and 3D models where available.
Glenn Jarrett, Head of Electronics Marketing at RS commented: “We have surveyed R&D electronics engineers and technicians since launching Component Chooser. The results show our customers are more engaged with the product offer, and highly value the new search and compare functionality within Component Chooser. This has enabled customers to find the components they want faster and more efficiently, increasing basket values within the trial.”
Component Chooser now supports designers in making smarter LED driver selections. With the increased coverage of electro-mechanical components and the expansion of the range of 3D models it is easier to select the right electromechanical component based on electrical and mechanical design considerations.
